Event Recap: Future Immortals Tour Brings Powerful Community Impact to Rockhampton

At Lacey Events, we believe the most meaningful events are the ones that leave a lasting impact long after the final day concludes.

Last week, we had the privilege of supporting and delivering the first-ever regional stop of the Arthur Beetson Foundation Future Immortals Tour in Rockhampton — a milestone event that brought together community, culture, sport, education, and connection in an incredibly powerful way.

From an event management perspective, this tour represented far more than logistics and scheduling. It was about creating experiences that genuinely connected with people across the region.

Over the course of the week, Rockhampton became home to a series of activations designed to engage the community at every level. The tour included fishing competitions, community visits, youth engagement activities, coaching clinics, cultural conversations, live sporting moments, media production, and networking opportunities that brought together local organisations, leaders, families, and young people.

As event organisers, one of the most rewarding aspects of the tour was witnessing the response from the community firsthand.

The atmosphere throughout the week was welcoming, energetic, and deeply connected. Families turned out to support the clinics and game-day events, local businesses and organisations embraced the initiative, and young people were given the opportunity to interact directly with mentors, role models, and respected figures from across rugby league and community leadership.

Events like these require extensive coordination behind the scenes — from stakeholder management and scheduling through to venue coordination, activations, logistics, media support, supplier management, and attendee experience.

What made this event particularly special was the collaboration between all parties involved.

The success of the Rockhampton tour was made possible through the support of local organisations, volunteers, sponsors, community leaders, and the dedicated teams working tirelessly across every activation.

We would like to acknowledge and thank the Platinum Sponsors who helped bring the event to life:

  • Rockhampton Regional Council

  • UNSW Sydney Nura Gili

  • Bidgerdii Community Health Service

  • BC Project Industries

We also acknowledge the incredible work of the Arthur Beetson Foundation and the media partnership with IN SPORT, whose storytelling and content production helped capture the heart of the tour and share these important moments with wider audiences.

For Lacey Events, this tour reflects exactly why we do what we do.

We are passionate about creating events that not only run professionally and smoothly, but also foster meaningful outcomes for communities, organisations, and attendees alike.

The Future Immortals Tour in Rockhampton demonstrated the power of regional events to bring people together, create opportunities for connection, and leave a genuine impact on community.

We are incredibly proud to have played a role in delivering this experience and look forward to supporting future regional activations as the tour continues to grow across Australia.
